It looks like the Big East will continue playing its tournament, but a number of conferences have cancelled their tournaments, namely the Big 10, the Big 12, the ACC, the SEC, the WAC, the Ivy League, the AAC, the Atlantic 10.

I have a feeling there will be no sports as we know it for about a month if not longer.

as usually coach I think you are a 100 percent correct, Dave being that you are in vegas is there any word about casinos closing? Casinos are basically one of the dirtiest places there is money, machines and chips probably handle by thousands without ever getting cleaned.

It is strange that the Big East tipped off today with every other conference halting their tournaments...they're catching a lot of flak for "being tone-deaf," "irresponsible," "greedy," etc. and I can't imagine they don't pull the plug before the end of the day.

I think that the Big Dance will be cancelled shortly. The NCAA big wigs are meeting right now to decide what to do.

Major League Baseball has decided to delay the start of the season.

Well with Duke and Kansas saying that their teams aren't traveling I would say that puts a wrap on college basketball this season.

Can't see how the NCAA could justify playing the Big Dance........I'm guessing Netflix is going to see a spike in the next 30 days or so

Haven't pulled the trigger yet but the white towel is in my hand. Looks like the March Madness trip to Vegas is about to be bagged. Will wait for Sunday to cancel but even if games are played, it just won't be the same and I will most likely not go one way or the other. A month without sports will be pure hell on earth but it looks like nothing will happen for at least a month.

Apologize for first sentence as this is not the time to joke.If you know me I take this seriously. Now on to the NCAA,I follow Div3 BB and last Friday Yeshiva U from NYC was playing at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and because of student at school having virus games were played with no fans as was second round.I then questioned the Div. 1 games but I a not on the committee. What took the NCAA so long.

From a gambling/sports stand point, this is 10xs worse than after 9-11......As bad as it was back in '01, it only lasted a week, and it was only football. This is 3 of the 4 big ones closing up shop/starting late. At least for now, again for now, we still have NASCAR, PGA and XFL to watch/wager on.....and horses.

Here in Ohio, the governor today closed ALL schools starting on Monday for the next 3 weeks. Our local district will actually be off for 4 weeks, as Spring Break is scheduled for the week after the hiatus.

Hard to fathom the incredible incompetence of the U.S Government in response to Covid-19. Setting aside Trump’s poor performance the other night (blaming foreigners (being obsessed with stock market numbers, calling it a “media hoax”, and banning travel too all except his golf clubs in Europe?), all of which could have been expected - where the heck was the Department of Health, the NIS, the CDC? Aren’t they paid to stay on top of things like this, develop reliable testing procedures (that are FREE), quarantine protocols, and vaccines – BEFORE it spreads , If America stays this course, it will end up like Italy (and the similarities are remarkable), with between 200,000 and 10 million dead; the economy will shatter; and I may just have to vote this year (and not just for the MLB All Stars).

Trump deliberately restricted the availability of test kits to artificially keep the number of confirmed cases lower because he thinks that lower numbers will help his reelection campaign.

In my opinion, betting on horse racing is a losing proposition due to the enormous takeout of paramutual betting. I usually make my one bet on horse racing on the Kentucky Deby, where I have had some huge successes. I hit long shots Ferdinand and Alysheba. I had bet a total of $400 on one Kentucky Derby, a $300 exacta on Silver Charm & Doctor Bodgett and a $100 trifecta on Silver Charm, Doctor Bodgett & Free House. That year I also hit an exacta in the Preakness on Silver Charm & Free House. I lost my exacta and trifecta when Silver Charm placed the Belmont Stakes instead of winning.

Ya the house edge on horse racing is estimated at around 17-18% I believe. Today u could try UFC or Mexican soccer. Their top 2 leagues r letting in fans too.
