    RUST...DUST...& DISGUST...

The 'Disgust' part is mainly for me for going off NE late and onto INDY. Dumb-ass! I'm sure there are many disgusted players out there that were a part of one of, if not THE biggest Week One slash and burn episodes I've seen. 40% went out of Adam's and the million dollar pools.

INDY...PHILLY...SF where the main culprits. Phillip has taken is find a way to lose ways to INDY with him. PHILLY was dinged up going to WASH, but how you go up 17-0 and not score again. SF and Porn Star Jimmy G have a chance to get the final drive victory, but choke it away and let the improving Cardinals grab a roadie W.

A number of teams showed some rust, but when the dust settled, it wasn't that bad a showing by most teams considering they didn't have any preseason to work out some kinks. I vote for ONE preseason game from here on out, but the owners love their greenbacks so they will continue.

DET loses on a dropped pass in the endzone...CINN loses because the kicker that looks like Blutarsky out of Animal House can't do his job as a kicker...INDY loses because Phillip Rivers can't do it in the clutch...I didn't see much of the PHILLY game, but I bet Wentz must have effed it up in the 2nd half. If PHILLY had fans at the home games, they will be throwing Russian poison roses at him...Tom Terrific looked not so terrific at NO where he admitted throwing a pick-6 was on him (REALLY?!)...As I write this, the TENN kicker seems to want to go on vacation as he's missed three FG's in a close game. Kickers, can't live with them, can't kill them.

The division game thing is real, even though I don't pay attention to it like I should, as they seem to always bite you in the butt as my right cheek will attest to that might need even more stitches.

    On to Week 2...

Let the overreaction begin! Now to figure out who will rebound and who might have won but has blemishes that a W covered for a week.

    Some of the bigger favorites.

CAR @ TB...Car held their own vs. LV but somehow didn't give it to Mcaffery when they needed a yard for a first down. Tommy will be better than his NO showing because he doesn't want Arians throwing him under the bus again. I think the home cooking with help them.

SF @ NYJ...It's not the worst thing in the world to lose to ARI as they are on the rise, but losing when you have a chance to win sucks. NYJ will be a softer group to go against and if Jimmy baby can commit to throws faster, they have a good shot at a roadie W.

JAX @ TENN...Big number for TENN to cover as a wager...JAX is feeling their oats and the Mighty Minshew has them jacked up. Might be closer than the odds makers have them posted at -10. TENN not impressive at DEN.

KC @ LAC...LAC looked mediocre at CINN and were lucky they didn't lose. KC is coming off the mini-bye and seem to be in mid-season form. They can be used other places.

BALT @ HOU...BALT looked rock solid vs CLEV. HOU played the best team in the NFL and will work out some kinks off the mini-bye. BALT has something to prove this season and Harbaugh will have them energized for the road game.

DET @ GB...Mr. Rodgers looked like he's ready for his gold jacket fitting based of the MINN game. It's a division game, and I've seen DET play some good ball at GB, but can they play well enough.

NO @ LV...NO is damn good, and has the weapons to win in the Vegas stadium opener. No fans and it's a dome. Players rooms will be locked from the outside so there isn't any midnight blackjack and strip club runs!

WASH @ ARI...The DC boys will be up against much better competition IMHO when they travel to the desert to face the Cards. They had a solid showing vs the SB losers and will be riding high as they feel they will be in the division title hunt come December.

I'm leaning ARI and maybe TB with my one pick left in my pools. Will ponder...

LOTS of teams to pick from this week...Don't need to get too cute. But of course I'll overthink it!

Ben needs to not invoke his love for God in his post-game interview when he got away with rape...

Yes, they looked good but not great as NYG blows a td chance inside the 5 to keep it close. DEN is a better team than NYG. I'd give the nod to PITT.

    SURVIVORGRID.COM - TUESDAY...

SF is a strong favorite for good reason. They are pretty beat up still but had a chance to beat ARI but Jimmy G couldn't make it happen. NYJ did not look good vs. BUFF. I don't know how high I am on TENN vs JAX. I'm sure their kicker can't play worse!

Do you know if traditionally Adam's pool follows any of the 3 on here more than the others? I seem to remember it mirroring one of the non-Yahoo pools one year, but unsure if that was just a fluke or a pattern.

Sorry Buck, missed your post. I'm not sure about any mirroring as I haven't thought of doing any comparisons before. Seems like the top 5-6 picks are the same but percentages will change as the season goes on.

PUT PICKS IN THE SYSTEM for whatever pools you are in!!!! Double check them the day of your deadline to make sure they stuck!

My list of picks to think about are:

LAR - Liked how they looked vs. DAL and PHILLY is beat up.
TB - I think enough rust will have gotten knocked off to get them a home win.
ARI - Probably my pick as they are a home team going against a team that beat a beaten down team last week vs. PHILLY.
BALT - Tough to go against them - HOU will work out some kinks from the KC game, but KC just doesn't quit. Close for awhile, but BALT wins.
NO - LAS isn't as good IMHO as TB, and NO will be in a dome once again vs. a LAS team that has a new home, but not enough new talent to win.

I think ARI has the least amount of value going forward, but still a few places to use them.

PITT looked good but not great and if NYG doesn't throw pick inside the 5 that game becomes a close one. PITT always tough at home.

Have either of you given any consideration holding your nose and picking the Bears? Doubtful there is another spot to take them, but hard to trust Mitch. Others on my list to whittle down from are ARI, TB, GB, and PITT.

too many other teams to pick from. CHI loses if DET WR doesn't drop ball in endzone late. I like ARI but PITT is home too.

Ended up trading in CHI for CLE. Other pick is AZ. Just couldn't pull the trigger on Trubisky.

Crummy week just passed-- Lost two with SF and Philly--
But as our leader always says- " you just need one to win"

I think he also said " Steve, I don't think any of this Apple stuff will work, I'm putting all my money in Sears stock"

        Going with Pitts because--
        Denver west to east--
Denver didn't set the world afire last week-- and even though Pitts was playing Gmen- they did play strong--
        especially Defense-
        Best of luck to all-

It's Thursday so if in Adams pool get em in!

yeah, I told bezos in the 90s, good luck with selling online books...that isn't going anywhere!

PITT has a few injuries but tough at home. They are one of my jinx teams so whatever I say about them means nothing!

        ADAM'S POOL SUMMARY...

As expected...Nothing out of the ordinary for the most part. LAR with no votes. CLEV with a little more votes than I would have thought. The TNF game is just starting as I post this. GO CINN!!!!

MISSED DEADLINE gets six votes! D'oh!! All separate people.

Wow! I hadn't scanned the list that closely but it works until it doesn't, then it hurts. INDY will win as I was on them last week when they lost.

Another guy with all 5-picks on CLEV. One with 6 all on GB.

        SURVIVOR ML ROLLOVER...

Got through Week 1 OK, now let's see if I can do two more. Gonna go LAR at PHILLY where I don't see Philly getting a bunch of injured players back vs. a Lambs team that played well vs. DAL and showed they are on the comeback after a disappointing 2019. Gonna go with my Survivor pick and take ARI. Not gonna make much if they win, but NO was another option I was looking at but will go with home team.

        WEEK 1

        PITT -261 $50 to win $69

        TENN -163 $50 to win $81

        WEEK 2

LAR PK $69 to win $132 -- ML wasn't available yet so just bet it with -108

        ARI -296 $81 to win $108

Got TENN, ARI, and GB in Adam and CLEV, TENN, and GB in another smaller pool. Only went with CLEV, because that pool allows you to rebuy in the 1st two weeks.

Yes, 2200 to him might be like $20 to me, but still stupid IMHO.

20/20 hindsight on CLEVE, but maybe they get a team that has just lost a QB to injury where they become a team to pick.

Burrow looks good but a few rookie mistakes. That CINN D is not good.

If that is the case, then he should have more than 20 entries. Bottom line is why have 20 entries if you are going to make them all of the same picks. Point of the game is to get to the end. If you have 20 entries, is your goal really to get 20 pieces of the pie?

Well, maybe he wants to get 4-5 games in and then vary his picks. In his mind he wants to get to the double pick week with as many as possible. He might not get to week 3 is the problem. You're only supposed to have a 20 game limit but that can be worked around. Who the hell knows.

No such thing as a lock...

I do like how my wife asked me this morning who was my pick this week. Guess she didn't know that I started with 7. lol (gotta love seperate bank accounts). Don't ask me how I spend my money and I won't ask you.

          LIZ HURLEY FANTASY PICK...

Lizzy is happy with me after my BUFF pick last week and actually took one of my calls! I stole her son's phone so it would look like my call was from him, but I was found out fast as her son was standing next to her when I called...D'oh!

To the desert we go with ARI and a bird of a different feather. They played well against a banged up SF team but showed guts on a game winning drive by SF late that Jimmy G effed up. Murray is Russell Wilsonesque and is growing as a QB. Hopkins is a great asset to have a WR. WASH played a very banged up O-line for PHILLY and had their way with them...That won't be the case in ARI.

This is what she was going to wear out to dinner with me...Until she said she will never go out to dinner with me. Takeout?!

          W1: BUFF (W)
          W2: ARI

            POW 1-0
            BUFF -5.5 westgate

I think that this game will be a blowout from start to finish. Miami is one of the most overrated teams in the NFL. This team had one of the worst rosters in the NFL last year. They were able to improve this offseason with some draft picks and some free agents. This is still one of the worst teams in the AFC.

Division game, and it was hot as I alluded to up higher. They got the W in the end.

I just watched a new onside kick receiving team strategy implemented by atlanta. Move away from and watch as the football spins like a top precariously the required 10 yards. McCarthy is awful, and yet cowboys win the game because Coach Quinn goes for 2 instead of taking the point early, and for whatever reason the "hands" team treated the football like a killer hornet. I like atlanta, but I have to fire the coaching staff right now. Inexcusable!

Yep,...Special teams coach needs to go bye-bye at least. I didn't notice the 2pt conversion try...Just saw ATL up the whole game, until the part that matters. just jump on the damn thing before it goes 10-yards...It's NOT against the rules!!!! LOL.

From Elias: Teams had been 440-0 when scoring 39 points and committing no turnovers since 1933.

How does Coach Quinn and staff keep the locker room from imploding after that debacle yesterday. Arthur Blank needs to pull the plug on this mess, and while we're at it time for the Lions to say goodbye to another Belichik tree coach who can't find his way w/o the hoodie. Joe Judge to follow??
          Working...
