Have any of the books in Vegas resumed with their handicapping contests (horses)?

Also, we called Bally’s about check writing privileges and they were going to charge us 2.5% (and we’ll be staying there in May. Does anyone know of other places where they’re free or have reasonable rates?

Also, are all the casinos still requiring masks?

The contests have been non existent for a few years now the only contest I’ve seen is the NHC and the NHC last chance qualifier the day before, the race book situation has turned kinda ugly, the books are always fighting with Churchill so they can’t take any tracks under their umbrella, the casinos will
be at 80% when u come but masks are required in all casinos I don’t see that changing Anytime soon. Yes

Ray sums up the current situation pretty well, sadly. I miss the days with all the daily handicapping contests. When I was with DRF, we had a weekly chart to help keep track of them all...now it would be completely empty.

Handicapping contests are almost exclusively online these days...check out horseplayers.com and horsetourneys.com (the latter has a much wider variety of daily contests...some are bigger, but you can also do head-to-head or five-way groups and stuff like that.

Thanks Ray and Dave. The younger generation just isn’t embracing horse racing and I feel it’s slowly dying. Still, I’m looking forward to my trip.
