    2. Players make one (1) single play ATS each week during the NFL regular season
    3. A correct play results in one (1) point being awarded. A "push" or tie, results in a half point (1/2) being awarded
    4. An Incorrect play results in zero (0) points being awarded
    5. All lines MUST be taken from the following website each week:
    6. All lines must be -120 or less (must be posted on above buying 1/2 point)
    7. Only Vegas Sports Books listed on the VI website will be allowed

2018 NFL P.O.W. (0-0-0 (post your current record here))

    Atlanta Falcons +3 (Golden Nugget)
(This is where you will post your reasoning for this selection. It doesn't have to be a book or even a full paragraph, but more than just "I think the Falcons are better.")

    12. Myself, Seahawk Rick (the artist formerly known as Cybergolf) or any other I deem so, will have final ruling on if a play is valid (ie: Wrong line, Wrong Book, Not enough reasoning given, etc)
    13. The first couple of weeks I will give the benefit of the doubt to any newcomers on here...veterans, you know the rules, LMEAO
    14. To qualify for the playoff round of this competition, players must have a total of 10 points by the end of the regular season (week 17)...important note: your points will be the number of Units you start with in the playoff portion of the contest that runs through the Super Bowl)
    15. Prizes to be determined by DaveTuley....we've had fellow posters offer up prizes in the past, so please let me know if anyone has anything to offer or ideas for yours truly (yes, this is an edit by DaveTuley I'd like to have a prize for the person earning the most points during the regular season...and then the overall champ after the Super Bowl (and perhaps a runner-up prize).
    16. NO EDITING!!!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask and best of luck this season!

      NFL POW (4-5 YTD)

Carolina + 4 (Thursday Night) MGM

Carolina 13-5 as a dog since 2015;Pitt 2-5 last 7 as a Heinz chalk. This is a Gold Sheet key release. Makes sense to me !!!

I wish you GL on your play but when I look at opening lines I look at most obvious play and like to go against if I land on dog.To me the most obvious is Carolina plus 4.That means the side for me is PITT -4 but as I said I only bet if a dog.
No play for me,GL on pick.

      2018 NFL P.O.W. (8-1 YTD)

New Orleans Saints - 4 (MGM)

Taking road favorites in the NFL is usually a losing proposition. In this case, however, I think the Saints should be favored by at least 6 to 7. Without AJ Green or Eifort, a Cincy defense that has been banged up all season, and facing the best QB they have seen this year and with Marvin "Please God let this be his last year" Lewis inferior coaching, give me the Saints who are a perfect 4-0 ATS on the road in 2018. Bengals just 1-3 ATS against teams that average more than 25 points, and have the 30th ranked defense against the pass! I don't see how they keep pace with Brees, and their inevitable slide towards mediocrity begins anew after a defensive meltdown and lucky to win game against the Buccaneers. Weather looks fine for the game with cool but not frigid weather, light winds and no rain to slow down the 'Aints. Saints #1 rushing defense limits Bengals other best weapon Joltin' Joe Mixon - barring a rash of turnovers this should be an easy win for Saints.

Thanks Mrvolo! I look forward to your picks as well as several others on this thread. Having a very good year tailing your picks also! Good luck the rest of the season and lets keep up the great handicapping on this thread, its of great value to me to see what others think.

      2018 NFL P.O.W. (7-1-1 YTD)

      NO -4 (CG Tech)

Grabbing the 4 before it goes up. I had the Saints winning this one by at least 7. The Saints are getting their swagger going strong. If they are able to add Dez Bryant as a 50/50 catcher they will be unstoppable. I like the Saints to go into Cincy and pull off another offensive show. The red head wonder will not be able to keep up with the scoring and I expect Cincy to press too much and turn it over. Saints win this 34-24.

          NFL POW 5-3-1

          Green Bay -9 [Wynn LV]

Packers have played two of the best teams in the NFL the last two weeks on the road and now come home to play possibly in the frozen tundra vs a Miami team that will be shocked by the conditions. Packers have more tough games on the horizon so this one is a must get for them. Rodgers knows this and I fully expect him to elevate his play in this one. Osweiller has been regressing each week and it will continue on Sunday in the frosty conditions. Devante Adams and Aaron Jones will play big roles in this game and the Packers will win this one by 17 +.

          GL to all

            POW 7-2

            Green Bay -9.5 (Westgate)

Got burned with the ugly dog last week, going with the public favorite this week. Just seems like a get right game for the Packers. Dolphins couldn't have been more underwhelming last week winning 13-6 and the only TD wasn't even scored by their offense. Perhaps the Dolphins defense shows up again this week but I'm thinking the team from south Florida isn't going to be real excited about the Green Bay weather. Just don't think Miami can do enough offensively, Packers win by double digits.

              NFL P.O.W. (4-5-0, 4 pts ytd)

              NO -4.5 Wynn LV

Couldnt finish the numbers in time to grab the spread of -4, but think this is a double digit loss for the hapless Bengals. A.J. Green out, and defense struggling this year: #30 in points allowed on the season and dead last in defensive points allowed the last three weeks. Meanwhile, in last 6 SU/ATS consecutive wins, the Saints beat the spread by more than 4.5 points every time but one. In going 6-0 last six ATS (and SU), the saints averaged +10 points per game above the spread.

NFL POW (2-6-1 for 2.5 pts)

                NO -4.5 MGM Mirage

Every game for me now is game of the avoid elimination I'm siding with the hot hand, NO, versus the struggling Cincinnati Bengals, who have given up more points than they have scored this year. Brees #1 QB rating - #2 QBR - this season with only 1 int, while Dalton has thrown 8 picks this year. That average of one interception per game seals the deal and covers the spread.

                  N.F.L. P.O.W. (5-4-0, 5 pts YTD)

                  NO -4.5 MGM Mirage

Cincy run defense and pass defense among the league worst YTD, has declined even more the last few games. In the past few games Cincy has allowed on average 145 yards rushing and 390 yards passing by their opponents in each of the last three games. Cincy averaging -13 scoring margin in same time period. You can't win games or cover spreads like that. That explains Cincy's 2-4 record in the last six games ATS including 0-3 ATS the past three games. Giving up 4.5 points still a bargain here.

                    NFL POW 5-4 (5-points)

                    Pittsburgh -3-1/2 (wynn)

Better team, at home, short week. Pittsburgh has been getting it done lately and won't stop tonight. Carolina has been playing tough, but looking for them to drop this road win tonight. Pitt by a TD.

                      POW 6-3

                      SEATTLE +10 (Stratosphere)

if you put any stock at all at all in the idea that a team can underperform due to being in a “look ahead” situation, then both the Rams and Chiefs would be candidates this week. They meet in Mexico City next week in the battle of NFL titans, and every player is aware of it. It would take monumental self discipline for LA to play a completely focused game against a good Seattle team with the Chiefs looming next week. Seahawks not used to being 10 point dogs and they will be the focused team in this one.

                        Treasure Island

For all of the reasons that CoachV stated above plus the Fins are just not a cold weather team. I feel Miami will hang around until mid way through the 3rd quarter, the things will go south.

                          Panthers+3.5 William Hill

Have been eyeballing this game since the lookahead lines came out. Really like the way the Panthers are playing right now, Cam, Mccaffrey, the D get it done this spot. Feel the Car D will turn over Big Ben several times and get the outright win.
