  • NFL top quarterbacks

    1 Mahomes
    2 Burrow
    3 Hurts
    4 Allen
    5 Jackson
    6 Herbert
    7 Lawrence
    8 Stafford
    9 Tagovialova
    10 Goff
    11 Cousins

    Question: Where to put Purdy?

Where did I go wrong on my list? Did I leave out any worthy quarterback?

Pretty good list. What about Fields? Think you might see Pickett on your list next year. You can't have Purdy on the list yet----wait till after he wins the SB

Agree that Pickett could well be up there next year.

Fields, maybe 12,maybe 11 ahead of Cousins or maybe 10 ahead of Goff? Where does Daniel Jones belong?

Don’t care for him but I’d say Rodgers belongs

Solid list. Mahomes is 1 and in a tier of his own. I feel Burrow is 2 and in a tier of his own. Then Allen, Hurts and then two guys that I can't quite figure out. Sometimes I am amazed at Lamar and sometimes he looks so bad to me. Herbert seems to have all the physical abilities, can make every throw, but that team always struggles. I know they had a lot of injuries and the coach should have been canned in my mind. After those guys it is a bunch of average at best and very inconsistent QB's.

One last thing, I do think SF Defense is very good and deserve credit for Dak looking so bad. But does anyone else think that if Dallas had almost any other QB the other day they would have won? I feel Dak missed 2 throws that were easy TD's on deep balls and had Ceedie 1 on 1 with a LB and underthrew big time, not to mention the 2 picks. I thought he played about as bad of a game as you can. On the other side love the Purdy story line, but felt he got away with some bad throws Sunday also.

Dad belongs near the bottom of my list, but where?

Yes, I agree, I forgot to list him. Maybe, list Rodgers at number 7 or 8?

I think Jones should be above Lawrence (maybe), but definitely ahead of Stafford.. same with Rodgers.. I have very little faith in Stafford these days. Think the 2021 season was a fluke, and he caught lightning in a bottle for a few months. He has seriously regressed back to the "Detroit" Stafford in my opinion.

I always liked Goff in LA, but will need another good season out of him in DET to consider him a top 10 in the league.

Tua is really the "odd" one on the list.. I think he could really be in trouble with the concussion issue. I hope I'm wrong, but I can really see a case where the league steps in and says " nope, you're done playing". Hope I'm wrong, because the kid does have a ton of talent, but the injuries really do scare me.

As for Lamar... Here is my feelings on him: Like Tua, I think the injuries (as well as his overall attitude) will really come back to bite him. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling he is just looking for this huge payday (which some team WILL give him in the next couple months) and then will be a bust.....Just like Deshawn has been in CLV.

Overall, very good list TARB. Love having these little debates, makes you open your eyes on certain things.

I don't think Tua is anywhere in the Top 10. Great college QB throwing to future NFL ProBowl receivers. Was able to extend plays in college, but not as frequently, or successfully, in the NFL. He doesn't have Mahomes type moves or arm strength, or NFL IQ in my opinion.

Might be a little harsh on Daniel Jones, he won a playooff game just like Josh Allen. Josh Allen led the NFL in turnovers, Int and fumbles. Jones in his first year with Daboll was the least amout of turnovers thats why the giants won this year.

This is Mahomes 6th year in the league, 5th year that he played minus 1 game his rookie season compared to Burrow's 3 years. He has never beat Burrow, hes 0-3 against him. If Mahomes loses again on Sunday to Burrow and Burrow goes on to win the Super Bowl, I think you start to have the argument as to who the top QB is in the league is Burrow rather than Mahomes.
