  • XFL Playoffs: Semifinals (April 29-30)

Well, one of the biggest travesties since the WWF's "Montreal Screwjob" happened in the final week of the XFL season (ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a tad, but still, lol). My Battlehawks just didn't get the job done in Week 9 against DC to secure a playoff spot, and despite posting a league high 42 points on Sat, and finishing with a 7-3 record, they will be joining me at home on the couch watching the two games this weekend. Meanwhile, a 4-6 Arlington squad gets to play another week against Houston in the South Championship... Unreal..

    Anyways, to the picks..

Saturday: South Division Championship (7pm on ESPN2)
    Houston -6***LOSE***
    Arlington/Houston UNDER 41***WIN***

Sunday: North Division Championship (3pm on ESPN)
    DC -3***WIN***
    Seattle/DC UNDER 48.5***WIN***

    Week 10 Results:
    Sides: 2-2 ATS
    Totals: 3-1 ATS

    Final Regular Season Results:
    Sides: 25-14-1 ATS
    Totals: 15-25 ATS

    Best of luck to all!

You want to talk about one team TOTALLY overlooking the other, it happened tonight. I give all the credit to Bob Stoops and his Arlington squad for just going into Houston and kicking the shit out of Wade Phillips Roughnecks team.

I mean, this Arlington team had only scored 12 touchdowns ALL SEASON going into tonight. And they held HOU to only 11 points.

No doubt they will be heavy, heavy underdogs when they meet either SEA or DC for the Championship on May 13th in San Antonio, but one thing is for sure, Stoops will have them fired up and ready to play.

DC does a great job of holding the home field advantage today and really put it to Seattle. The game wasnt as close as the score ended. DC dominated from the opening kick.

My numbers are placing DC as an 8.5 point favorite in the Championship game on May 13. I place the total at 46.5. I know Bob Stoops will have his Renegades fired up for this game and play the "Us against the World" card, and rightfully so. And they will have the "home field" edge, as the game is played in San Antonio, but if DC plays their "normal" game, I don't see how Arlington stays inside 2 tds of the Defenders.

I wasn't too far off, CIRCA opens the game at 6 and 46.5. Going to try and get with my guy and see if I can't get this down now, as I really think the line will go up a couple points between now and kickoff on the 13th.

DC only beat them by 2 in most recent meeting (and that was at home).
Based on season-long body of work, I have DC -5 and Over/Under 44, so slight lean to Arlington & the Under...still handicapping, but Renegades certainly looked better than previously with Luis Perez against Houston as they finally put it all together after losing 4 of last 5.
