Did anyone else get in on Adam's MLB eliminator pool? I entered with 1 entry and with an assortment of luck on my side, I am surviving.
If you thought the NFL eliminators were crazy with bombs going off, MLB says "Hold my beer!!". After only 5 weeks, 91.5% has been eliminated. 264 started and only 22 survivors going into this week!!!
Basic rules are you pick one team per week (week runs Monday - Sunday), during this week, your team has to win 50% or more of its game in order to survive. My basic strategy is to find a team that has 6 games scheduled, reason being a team with 5-games needs to win 3 of 5 (60%) to be at 50% or above, 6-game weeks need to be 3 of 6 or better, and 7-games need to be at 4 of 7 or better (57%). But then you have the weather factor where games might be made up with a double header, or might get postponed until later in the season dropping the number of games your team plays in that week.
So far, it has been pretty entertaining. Only other edge I have been looking for is for a team that has an easy matchup the first part of the week. Always nice to start a week 2-1 or 3-0 and only needing a win during the weekend series to advance.
