For a fuller explanation of what's going on here, check out our "Tuley's non-football takes" thread from Saturday, Aug. 26, but the short story is I'm still doing weekly CFB & NFL picks for VSiN.com, but I'm not doing my daily "ATS Report" from the previous night's games and I'm not doing MLB or horse racing plays. So, those have been moved back here to the ViewFromVegas.com Forums. The hope is that we’ll also bring more of my followers from Twitter @ViewFromVegas into becoming full-fledged VFV Nation members and open up more of a daily discussion of the games with other VFV handicappers as well.
Unfortunately, I didn’t post any underdog plays here on Wednesday as I’m still working out my daily work schedule (note: my NFL 2 “takes” are in my weekly VSiN column at https://www.vsin.com/nfl/tuleys-takes-nfl-week-2/).
The last play we posted here was the Rangers First 5 Innings -105 at the Blue Jays on Tuesday as they led 2-0 through 5 innings and went on to win 6-3 for those who bet my plays on the full-game moneyline. We said we wished we had posted our MLB plays Wednesday as underdogs also led 8-6 on the day as we also loved that the red-hot Rangers were still short road dogs as they led 6-0 through 5 and went on to rout the Blue Jays 10-0 for their 5th straight win.
Even without posting that win or any others on Wednesday, our record is still 12-7-5 (an even more impressive 63.2% when you consider these were all plus-money dogs or PK -110 at worst) for a net profit of +7.35 units since moving our "non-football" picks back to the VFV Forums a week and a half.
As for Thursday, we’re going to continue riding the Rangers First 5 as they’re an even juicier +130 at the Blue Jays as they go for the series sweep. We don’t usually feel good about going against Toronto’s Kevin Gausman (11-8, 3.28 ERA), but we feel we’re still getting value with the hotter offense and we get Texas’ Nathan Eovaldi (11-4, 2.90 ERA).
