  • Tuley's non-football "takes" are back in VFV Forums (picks for Friday, Sept. 15)

For a fuller explanation of what's going on here, check out our "Tuley's non-football takes" thread from Saturday, Aug. 26, but the short story is I'm still doing weekly CFB & NFL picks for, but I'm not doing my daily "ATS Report" from the previous night's games and I'm not doing MLB or horse racing plays. So, those have been moved back here to the Forums. The hope is that we’ll also bring more of my followers from Twitter @ViewFromVegas into becoming full-fledged VFV Nation members and open up more of a daily discussion of the games with other VFV handicappers as well.

Again, my “Tuley’s Takes” NFL column is posted on Wednesdays (just like during the “Point Spread Weekly” days for those who were longtime VSiN subscribers) with my Week 2 column at while my CFB Takes this week are at

As for my “non-football takes” here, I won again Thursday with the Rangers First 5 Innings +130 at the Blue Jays…can’t believe we got such a juicy price with how hot the Rangers have been lately as they won their 6th straight (and we cashed the First 5 with a 4-2 lead before going on to win 9-2 for those using my picks on the full-game moneyline.

The officially posted play improved us to 13-7-5 (an even more impressive 65% when you consider these were all plus-money dogs or PK -110 at worst) for a net profit of +8.65 units since moving our "non-football" picks back to the VFV Forums two weeks ago come Saturday.

As for Friday, I’ll again fade the Blue Jays, who are on a 4-game losing streak. We’re again getting a plus-price in a matchup that we feel should be pick-’em with Brayan Bello (12-8, 3.68 ERA) vs. Jose Berrios (10-10, 3.63 ERA).
