The law that allowed this massacre to occur was passed in 1995 and signed into law by President Clinton. It was a Republican law. This law was allowed to remain on the books for 19 years. The Republican President and Republican Congresses did nothing to repeal or amend it. The Republican President and Republican Congresses did nothing to enforce background checks for gun purchases. FMWhatsapp

A weak inadequate bill has just been agreed to in the Senate today. The House of Representatives should quickly agree to pass this legislation, with the President also signing it into law very soon.

Tarb, they will never learn until something like this happens to one of their own. So sad that our politicians put politics ahead of our children’s safety.

This year, 2022, is averaging 11 mass shooting incidents per week. A mass shooting incident is defined as at leas 4 people not counting the shooter being shot.
If you want to curtail gun violence in the USA, vote out of office any candidate who has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association. The NRA will not allow any gun safety laws to be passed by Congress.

There seems to be a small hope that the assholes in Congress can get a small bipartisan agreement to do something about gun safety this time. I have my doubts, but hope that they can agree to get something worthwhile passed. The Republicans listen to the NRA too much. I will vote against any candidate endorsed by the NRA.

The local police department totally blew its response to the active shooter.

There is no Constitutional right for a citizen to own military weapons. A hunting rifle is one thing (allowed by the Constitution) and an AR15 is another thing. What is next, the right for citizens to have hand grenades, bazookas, flame throwers, tanks, missiles?

    Massacre at Texas grammar school

The Republican Texas Governor and Republican lawmakers are directly responsible for the massacre of 19 grammar school students and two teachers. They pushed through ridiculous laws allowing any 18 year old person to purchase military AR15 rifles and ammunition, which are more deadly than the M16 rifles that the US Army used in Viet Nam. The new laws say that no background checks of the buyers are required, no safety courses required, just pay the money and get the most deadly weapons available. This is the height of insanity. The National Rifle Association and its lobbyists are just as responsible. There will be no safety in the USA until these Republican Senators, Congressmen, Assembllymen, and Governors are voted out of office. They just won't vote for sensible gun safety laws.
